Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Restaurant Shift Opener or Closer to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Prepare the restaurant for opening or closing by following established procedures, including setting up equipment, cleaning workstations, and organizing supplies
- Manage food preparation tasks efficiently to ensure timely service during your shift
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for processing sales, handling cash transactions, and managing retail sales transactions
- Take customer orders accurately, upsell menu items to enhance sales, and ensure a positive dining experience
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace by performing bussing, sanitation, and food handling duties in compliance with food safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support food preparation needs
- Process cash register operations accurately while balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Ensure adherence to food safety management practices and sanitation protocols throughout your shift
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed to support smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in quick service or fast food restaurants is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation procedures
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is a plus
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience operating kitchen equipment and handling food safely
- Retail or grocery store experience is advantageous but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting supplies or equipment
