We are a small grooming salon specializing in providing high quality grooming services in a caring and drama free work environment.
Previous animal experience is required(does not have to be grooming related). Starting pay will depend on level of experience and will range from $13-14/hour plus tips. Tips usually add up to an additional $3-6/hour. We are looking for part time at the moment with potential to move to full time. Shifts are usually 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. Weekends(Fridays and Saturdays) are required. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, all major holidays and the weekend following Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. There may also be the opportunity to learn how to groom and advance in the company.
Some responsibilities include:
- Washing and drying dogs
- Expressing anal glands
- Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing
- Keeping bathing and kennel area clean
- Checking in and out customers
- Washing and folding towels
- Assisting groomers when necessary
- Cleaning the bathing area at the end of the day
- Keeping the front grooming area swept and cleaned
- Cleaning up after dogs
- Calling customers when their pet is ready for pickup
- Opening/closing the store
- Scheduling appointments and answering phones
Qualifications include:
- Smoke free, drug free, reliable, trustworthy, and professional
- Energy to keep up with bathing several dogs a day
- Ability to lift large pets
- Strong work ethic and communication skills
- Ability to be friendly and outgoing with pets and their owners
- Positive attitude and works well closely with others
- Experience working with animals is preferred
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
