Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks with manual transmission to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, or debris to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure and balanced loads.
- Follow established routes driving safely across construction sites, industrial yards, or delivery points while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, loads, routes, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers to coordinate deliveries and pickups efficiently.
- Assist with loading or unloading freight when necessary, ensuring proper handling of specialized cargo such as refrigerated trailers or tanker loads.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience operating tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or flatbed trucks.
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery and route driving.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely.
- Experience handling specialized equipment such as forklifts or tanker trucks is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to commercial driving and heavy vehicle operation.
- Strong physical stamina for load & unload tasks and long hours on the road.
