Our client is a premier, tier 1 supplier who is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will manage new product launches by collaborating with customers, vendors, and internal departments to meet project requirements. Responsible for designing and developing production tooling that meets customer specifications and supports efficient manufacturing processes.
The Manufacturing Engineer ideally will be proficient in SolidWorks and have worked within a manufacturing background
Manufacturing Engineer Job Requirements:
- High school diploma plus apprenticeship or related associate degree, or equivalent
- Three to five years of experience
- Modeling using Solidworks, Magma preferred.
- Experience in defect analysis and resolution.
- Supervise highly diversified journey work and formulate new approaches.
- Moderate physical effort. Able to lift up to 40 pounds if needed.
- Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE
Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Exhibit superior safety practices every day through outstanding housekeeping
- Treat all associates with the same courtesy and dignity shown to customers
- Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail
- Protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures
- Optimize casting manufacturing processes with Product Engineers utilizing CAD and simulation software
- Design and oversee construction of tooling through testing and production release
- Follow up and assist in resolving production problems related to tooling
- Ensure quality workmanship, efficient material flow, proper equipment utilization, and effective production methods
- Track samples, initiate corrective action requests, and maintain communication with customers and Corporate Sales regarding sample status
- Attend sample, Product Impact Engineering (PIE), and design review meetings
- Maintain adequate inventories of raw materials, production supplies, and tooling
- Maintain inventory records as required
- Ensure tools and equipment remain in proper working condition
- Maintain open communication with employees to resolve issues, improve morale, and promote a union-free environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies, work rules, and regulations through coaching and disciplinary action when necessary
- Evaluate and implement improved operational methods, production processes, and equipment to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce costs
- Enforce proper use of safety equipment and maintain departmental housekeeping
- Coach employees on safe work practices
- Maintain communication between shifts and departments to promote efficient operations
- Perform customer service activities as required, including travel to customer facilities
