Royal Coaches Towing is an established towing and recovery company in Baldwin Park serving the San Gabriel Valley, running a fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty tow trucks year-round.
The Role
We need an experienced Diesel Mechanic to keep our tow trucks running. You'll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our diesel fleet — engines, brakes, electrical, and the hydraulic systems that power our wreckers and carriers.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and BIT/DOT inspections on diesel trucks
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines (Cummins, International, Hino, etc.), including emissions/aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF)
- Repair air brake systems, suspensions, drivetrains, and electrical systems
- Service and repair hydraulic systems on wreckers and rollback carriers (winches, booms, wheel lifts, bed controls)
- Use diagnostic software/scan tools to troubleshoot fault codes
- Document all work performed and parts used
- Maintain a clean, safe shop environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (medium/heavy-duty trucks)
- Experience with air brakes, hydraulics, and 12V electrical systems
- Own basic hand tools
- Valid California driver's license; Class A or B with air brake endorsement a plus (test drives)
- Tow truck / wrecker equipment experience a strong plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
