American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring strong Neuro/Ortho surgical experience and a minimum of 2 years in a large acute care hospital setting.

Large acute care hospital setting with 25 OR suites averaging 75–100 cases per day

Level I Trauma Center environment

Surgical specialties include Neuro (craniotomies, spine), Ortho, General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic procedures; robotic/DaVinci experience preferred

1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

Evening shift: 1400–0030, Mon–Thu, with 10-hour shifts

On-call required 1–2 days per week and every 3–4 weekends

Shift extensions may be required as an extension of the regular shift (not callback)

Occasional floating to alternate campuses (rare)

EMR: Epic (experience required)
-
Equipment includes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for Neuro cases

13-week contract

Active RN license — ND or Compact (must be in hand)

Current BLS certification

Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience

Large hospital experience required — 250+ beds with Level I Trauma designation

Experience in a facility with 15 or more OR suites; outpatient center experience is not sufficient

Strong Neuro OR experience (craniotomies, spine) and Ortho experience required

Comfort working General OR cases required

Experience with surgical navigation systems required; DaVinci robotic experience preferred

Two current professional references required — one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years

Active certifications required at time of consideration (no pending certifications accepted)

Circulating RN responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, patient positioning, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, OR equipment setup, and electronic documentation

Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; those living between 60–80 miles may be considered at a reduced travel pay rate

Facility-provided scrubs in Ceil Blue

All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
