We are seeking a Endoscopy Technician to join our team.
The Endoscopy/GI Technician plays an essential role in supporting endoscopic procedures, focusing on equipment preparation, patient care, and assisting clinical staff. Working under the direction of nurses and gastroenterologists, the Endoscopy/GI Technician ensures that all necessary equipment is sterile, operational, and ready for use, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment for patients throughout their procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and ensure high-level disinfection (HLD) of all endoscopic instruments and equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed

Procedure Assistance: Support the clinical team during endoscopic procedures by handing instruments to the physician, assisting with specimen collection, and ensuring the patient’s comfort

Patient Preparation and Post-Procedure Care: Help prepare patients for procedures, provide support and reassurance, and assist with patient positioning. Aid in the post-procedure process, including cleaning and preparing the room for the next patient

Infection Control and Safety Compliance: Follow strict infection control guidelines, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, rooms, and instruments according to regulatory standards

Documentation and Communication: Record procedure details, patient information, and any instrument usage or issues accurately. Communicate with clinical staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations
Qualifications:

Minimum of one year experience as an Endoscopy/GI Technician preferred

Experience in an acute or ambulatory setting is desired

High school diploma or equivalent certification

Completion of Endoscopy Technician Training

The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Advanced Program completion, a plus

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start

Strong understanding of sterile processing and infection control procedures

Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
