Step into the lab as our Feed & Soil Sample Preparation Technician, where science meets soil and forages, and no two days are ever the same!
This is not your average desk job. You’ll be up, moving, mixing, grinding, drying—and occasionally feeling like a wizard in a white coat. Your superpower? Making sure every sample is prepped to perfection so our analytical instruments can do their magic.
What You’ll Be Doing (besides looking awesome in a lab coat)
- Sample Prep: Prepare plant tissue, animal feed, forage, plant tissue, and soil samples following tried-and-true protocols.
- Equipment Handling: Operate grinders, mills, drying ovens, test tubes, scales—aka the lab’s most powerful tools (besides you).
- Organizing: Log, sort, tag, and track samples like a pro to keep everything where it should be.
- Pre-Analysis: Dry, grind, and scan samples to get them analysis-ready.
- Maintaining safety: Keep your workspace spotless and safe—safety goggles never go out of style.
- Cooperate: Communicate and collaborate with fellow lab teammates to keep things running smoothly.
This position runs from now through the December. No nights and weekends! This seasonal job often leads to long-term employment, so get your foot in the door with a great local company!
What You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required; science-related degree? Even better!
- An eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions like a recipe for success.
- Readiness to get hands on with drying, grinding, measuring, and extracting.
- Organization skills, dependability, and ability to multitask like a lab ninja.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stay on your feet—this job keeps you moving!
