Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Classroom Aide to support students with diverse learning needs in a theraputic educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), facilitate classroom activities, and provide personalized support to promote student success. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and communication challenges. Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly valued.
Duties
- Support classroom teachers in delivering instruction aligned with curriculum standards and IEP goals
- Assist students with daily activities, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive classroom behavior and engagement
- Help plan and execute lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions to ensure safety and orderliness
- Support students with autism and other developmental disabilities through personalized assistance and sensory accommodations
- Collaborate with specialists, therapists, and families to support student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and development
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, particularly in special education environments
- Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management techniques, and curriculum development for early childhood or preschool levels
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and related interventions
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, teachers, parents, and specialists
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional methods accordingly
- Experience with classroom management strategies and lesson planning for diverse learners
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children’s growth, learning, and well-being
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $19.50 per hour
