Join our team as a Waste Collections - Sanitation Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. The
City relies on the hard work of our employees to provide essential services such as operating waste collection
vehicles to serve in the collection of household waste, recycling, limb, and yard waste. An ideal candidate would
be interested in:
- Learning how to operate equipment such as side arm trash trucks, rear loading trash trucks, knuckle
boom trucks, loaders, and leaf machines.
- Operate collection trucks to collect waste and debris (curbside trash, recycling, limbs, and yard waste).
- Working with a diverse team to solve problems that range from setting up a parade to tackling litter
issues.
- Working on jobs that will directly impact daily lives of the 37,000 citizens of Salisbury.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s License, Class A or B CDL required
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work after normal business hours in on-call and emergency situations.

Salary range: $20.42 - $29.20/hour (Depending on Experience)
$2,000.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period
