Perform entry level professional duties of moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training in various offices throughout the City. Perform assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance. Specific activities vary by department. Work is performed under direct supervision.
This internship is with the Community and Economic Development(C&ED) located in City Hall at 228 South Massachusetts Avenue in Lakeland, FL. Interns will work a maximum of 30 hours a week. This internship begins in late August.
- Assists Planning staff in compiling data and preparing reports/ applications to seek Bike Friendly and Trail Town designations

Assists with technical review of site development plans and conducts site visits as needed

Assists with review and analysis of zoning applications for compliance with land use regulations and other city growth management policies

Attends and participates in public workshops, hearings and meetings

Attends and participates in department/committee meetings as assigned

Provides support to staff as assigned

Currently enrolled as a sophomore in an accredited college or university in a major relating to Urban and Regional Planning.
