Tahoe Resource Conservation District (Tahoe RCD) is a non-regulatory special district that promotes the conservation, stewardship and knowledge of the Lake Tahoe Region’s natural resources by providing leadership and innovative environmental services to all stakeholders.
In order to prevent aquatic invasive species (AIS) from entering the Lake Tahoe Region, we physically inspect about 16,000 motorized vessels annually before they launch and offer decontamination services for those that pose a risk. For 15 years, our staff have operated at various locations around the Region and it has been extremely successful.
Tahoe RCD is hiring a Service Technician to assist with all aspects of operations at watercraft inspection stations. The work of the Service Technician is physically and mentally demanding. Work is performed in the field, office, and from a Tahoe RCD vehicle. The Service Technician will be responsible for operating the service truck and trailer to perform basic maintenance of equipment at remote sites, stocking and resupplying watercraft inspection stations, and assisting the Operations Coordinator as needed. This position integrates aspects of mechanics, plumbing, engineering and electrical. On the job training will be provided.
