MBC Staffing is recruiting to fill a DIRECT HIRE Inventory Control Lead position at $22.00-$23.00/hr, depending on experience for our customer located in Chicago, Illinois.
This position is responsible for overseeing the Inventory Team and ensures the integrity of the company Perpetual Inventory Program. Production support to ensure on time customer delivery of a quality product; plans and conducts physical inventory with inventory control leader; ensures 5S, Lean, and all safety policies by following operation procedures; responsible for leading the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Own and executie cycle count programs, investigate variances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain target inventory accuracy across the warehouse.
- Lead month-end and quarter-end physical inventory reconciliations, ensuring ERP/WMS adjustments align with financial records
- Design, document, and enforece inventory control policies and SOPs for receipts, utaway, picking, returns, scrap, and intrecompany transfers to minimize loss and improve compliance
- Manage daily inventory transactions in systems like SAP, including adjustments, reservations, and replenishment troubleshooting
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, decvelop corrective action plans, and track effective ness through KPIs and follow-up audits
- Supervisor inventory control teams, train staff on procedures, and encourage adherence to company poli9cies and operational goals
- Partner with operations, procurement, planning, finance, and vendors t optimize stock levels, enforce inentory policies, and improve operational efficiency
- Generate and analyze inventory reports, monitor KPIs such as shrinkage, fill rate, days on hand, and carrying costs and recommend process improvements
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years leading inventory control teams or programs in manufacturing or 3PL environments, with procven improvements in inventory accuracy and cost reduction
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, etc), data analytics, and inventory management software
- Strong comomuication, attention to detail, problem solcving, leadeship, and customer service skills are essential for managing teams and coordinatingwith multiple departments
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of inventory and production operations
- Train associates on inventory procedures, product put-away, and order resarch using ERP systems
- Forecast supply and demand to precent overstocking or stockouts and coordinat with warehouse staff for proper storage and distribution
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver's license
- Microsoft Office
- Excel proficiency
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- 1-3 years of leadership experience
- 1-3 years of inventory control experience
- At least 1 year of system analyzing experience
- Prefer 1 years of warehouse experience
