Preschool Assistant Teacher
Mack Elementary Campus | Woodinville, WA
Salary: between $19.82 – $22.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full Day – 8:30am-3:15pm, during the school year
General Responsibilities:

Pray for each child and family in your class and share the love of Jesus with him or her through your words and actions.

Work collaboratively with the Lead teacher, family members and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.

Assist the Lead Teacher with lesson activities and assessments when needed.

Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and supplies in advance for activities.

Guide the child’s behavior in positive ways that support total growth and development and promote self-esteem.

Assist with daily cleaning (paints, brushes, dishes etc.) and tidying classroom.

Wash and disinfect tables before and after snack, meals, and tooth brushing.

Monitor classroom for safety. Notify Preschool Program Supervisor of any items that need repair or replacement.

Ensure classroom is clean and help teacher to reset for the next day/session before leaving.
Professional conduct:
-
Attend BCS preschool Professional Development meetings as required as well as quarterly staff meetings.

Maintain all health & safety education as required by licensing and keep training updated in the MERIT Portal.

Assume responsibility for the completion of and payment of education required for the role. Licensed Assistant Teachers must have an Initial Certificate or the equivalent (12 ECE credits).

Complete 10 hours of annual Professional Development Training (STARS hours).

Record and submit work hours online by the monthly due date.

Support and encourage other staff members through prayer.

Refer parents to the Lead Teacher or Preschool Program Supervisor for questions about a child’s behavior or development in class.

Dress appropriately and professionally. Jeans must be neat. Sandals and flip flops, exercise/yoga clothing should not be worn to work.

Refrain from using cellphone while children are present.

Maintain confidentiality when discussing information about children or families.
Qualifications (required):
-
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
-
CPR and First Aid certified.

Complete the applicable preservice requirements, pursuant to WAC 110-300-0105.

Initial Certificate or the equivalent (preferred). Have an ECE initial certificate or equivalent by August 1, 2026, or within five years of being hired.
Work Requirements
- Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Must be able to consistently sit, kneel, and bend as required.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as required.
-
Ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time is required.
-
May be outside in various weather (including cold/damp weather).
