We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, speech therapy techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through standardized testing, observations, and individualized education plan (IEP) reviews to tailor instruction effectively.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral health strategies to promote a safe learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to support early intervention efforts and ensure consistent communication regarding each child's progress.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides to maintain high standards of teaching quality and classroom management.
- Organize engaging activities that promote childhood development across cognitive, social-emotional, language, and motor domains while integrating library services and Montessori principles where appropriate.
Experience
- 45 hours DCF (required)
- CDA (preferred)
- First Aid and CPR Certificate (required)
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings with a focus on special education or deaf education preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development for young children, including lesson planning for literacy education, math skills, behavioral therapy techniques, and behavioral health management.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder; familiarity with IEP processes is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective mentoring of staff and engaging families in their child's educational journey.
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and support behavioral health initiatives.
