Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team! Duties
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, ensuring adherence to schedules and delivery deadlines
- Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400 to schedule, track, and optimize shipments
- Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, clients, and internal teams
- Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, improve routing efficiency, and respond swiftly to any issues or delays
- Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight details, and fleet management in SyteLine and other logistics software
- Oversee shipping schedules, coordinate with 3PL providers, and ensure compliance with transportation planning standards
- Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Handle phone call management with professionalism using proper phone etiquette while providing exceptional customer service
- Support freight documentation processes including shipping manifests, delivery receipts, and related records
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment; familiarity with supply chain operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, AS400, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in using GPS, GIS mapping tools, and telematics for fleet tracking and route optimization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple phone lines effectively
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to analyze transportation data for operational insights; experience with analysis tools is a plus
- Familiarity with freight processes including shipping & receiving, freight documentation, and fleet management practices
- Knowledge of logistics concepts such as 3PL (third-party logistics), transportation planning, and supply chain management
- Technical skills including typing speed, experience with SyteLine ERP system, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and AS400 platform are highly desirable
