Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Unarmed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will monitor access points, conduct patrols, and utilize surveillance equipment to maintain a secure environment. Your proactive presence will deter potential threats and respond swiftly to incidents, fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all. Responsibilities
- Observe surroundings continuously and report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations to the appropriate supervisor or authority in a timely manner.
- Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for visitors, residents, employees, and vendors, providing accurate information and directions as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing calls or messages to the correct department or individual.
- Monitor security camera feeds across the property to identify and respond to unusual activity or potential security concerns.
- Accurately complete and submit personal timesheets in accordance with company policy and scheduling requirements.
- Prepare and complete incident reports and Daily Activity Reports (DAR), including detailed and accurate documentation communicated by phone when required.
- Operate and manage multiple entry/exit gates, verifying credentials and authorizing entry in accordance with site access procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of visitors, vehicles, and deliveries entering and exiting the property.
- Follow all emergency response procedures and assist with evacuations or emergency situations as directed.
- Perform other related security and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills with a friendly, professional, customer-focused demeanor.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate CCTV/camera monitoring systems and gate control equipment.
- Comfortable using phones, computers, and basic reporting software or forms.
- Strong written communication skills for completing clear, accurate reports.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior security or customer service experience preferred.
- Valid security guard license/certification, if required by state or local jurisdiction.
Physical Requirements - with or without accommodations
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
