Vari Electric is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Murfreesboro, TN. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and other heavy equipment. Pay is based on experience.
We're looking someone who has:
- A valid driver's license and is insurable. CDL Class A license is a plus.
- A great attitude and is a positive influence on others
- 2+ years previous experience
- Ability to read a tape measure and site tools to set elevations.
- Willingness to perform manual work with team such as install conduit in ditch, build rebar structures, operate power tools, etc.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects up to fifty pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often 8+ hours per shift, on job sites and uneven terrain
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders and comfortable working at heights
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Capability to ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies, including wearing safety equipment
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform all necessary pre-trip inspections of the machine.
- Load and unload material from the machine.
- Keep track of inventory of machine parts and supplies.
- Maintain the machinery in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds on an extended lift system.
