We are looking for a warm, patient, and energetic young male companion (late 20s or older preferred) for a 24-year-old young man on the autism spectrum.
This role is all about building a positive friendship, sharing hobbies, and spending quality time together. Activities will primarily focus on going for walks, playing games such as Nintendo Switch, and having fun together.
While he is high-functioning and autism is not readily apparent at first glance, he can sometimes be stubborn, fixate on a single topic, and repeat things. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is exceptionally patient, understanding, and easygoing. Since our schedule is flexible, we are seeking someone available for as many hours as possible to work out a mutually convenient schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging in fun activities, hobbies, and recreational games together (such as walks, playing Nintendo Switch games, etc.).
- Providing a safe, supportive, and friendly social environment with patience and understanding.
- Accompanying him on outdoor outings or indoor recreational activities depending on his interests.
- Building a reliable and trusting rapport as a companion and friend.
- Supporting independence in daily routines and guiding through everyday social situations with patience.
- Helping build life skills and personal independence naturally through daily activities and shared hobbies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Preferred profile: Male, late 20s or older, with an outgoing and energetic personality.
- Experience or background working with individuals with autism or special needs is a plus, but a warm heart, patience, and a positive attitude are most important.
- Strong empathy, emotional resilience, and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and trustworthiness.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Schedule & Pay:
- Hours: Flexible, part-time, with the maximum possible hours available based on mutual schedule agreement.
- Hourly Rate: $24.00 per hour (Tax included / Respite program funded)
Pay: $24.00 per hour
