We are seeking an experienced Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) to provide temporary coverage for construction stormwater inspections while the current QSP is on maternity leave.
This is a temporary, part-time position that involves travel to active construction sites throughout the Sacramento area and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will already hold an active California QSP certification and be comfortable independently conducting SWPPP inspections and completing associated documentation. I can provide the SWPPP templates if needed, for the projects needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct routine SWPPP inspections at active construction sites
- Perform pre-storm, during-storm, post-storm, and qualifying rain event inspections as required. (Shouldn't have to worry about this portion or entering the rainy season)
- Inspect and document BMP conditions and deficiencies
- Identify necessary corrective actions and communicate findings
- Complete inspection reports and supporting documentation accurately and promptly
- Take and organize site photographs
- Coordinate with project/site personnel when necessary
- Travel between multiple project locations
Qualifications:
- Active California Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) certification
- Previous experience performing construction SWPPP inspections
- Knowledge of California Construction General Permit requirements and construction-site BMPs
- Ability to independently perform inspections and prepare clear, professional reports
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple construction sites
- Dependable and responsive, particulary when inspections are required due to weather/rain events
Position Details:
- Temporary maternity-leave coverage
- Part-time/as-needed schedule- very flexible schedule as long as inspections get done
- Around 5-20 hours per week, depending on project needs, weather and driving distance between projects
