Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, ensuring consistency and quality in every drink.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner, providing personalized recommendations based on their preferences.
- Manage cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, processing payments swiftly and securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
- Develop new beverage recipes and enhance existing ones to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Monitor inventory levels of alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and supplies; place orders as needed to ensure seamless service.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate food and beverage service during busy periods or special events like banquets and catering functions.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication to ensure guest safety.
- Assist in bar management duties when required, including training new staff members and overseeing daily operations.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a bartender in a fast-paced hospitality environment, preferably with fine dining or upscale venues.
- Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, beverage recipe development, wine varieties, spirits, craft beer styles, and food pairing principles.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience processing cash transactions accurately using retail math or basic math skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while managing multiple orders efficiently.
- Previous food service experience including serving food safely and handling food products responsibly.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the hospitality industry.
- Experience with banquet service or catering environments is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy shifts.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
