Job Title: Preschool TeacherJob Summary:
The teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers. The teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, foster emotional and physical development, and ensure the safety and well-being of the children in their care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Child Care and Supervision:
- Provide high-quality care, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Monitor the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
- Maintain constant supervision of the children, including feeding, changing diapers, and providing comfort.
- Educational Activities:
- Plan and implement activities that promote the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of infants.
- Use age-appropriate educational toys, books, music, and games to encourage learning through play.
- Support early learning milestones such as sensory exploration, motor skills, and language development.
- Routine Care:
- Administer feedings, diaper changes, and naps in a timely manner.
- Follow safety protocols for hygiene, diapering, and feeding.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Parent Communication:
- Communicate with parents or guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities.
- Keep parents informed about any concerns related to their child’s health, behavior, or development.
- Collaboration:
- Work with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure that the classroom and play areas are safe and free from hazards.
- Monitor children’s health and respond to any health concerns immediately.
- Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of each child’s attendance, health, and development.
- Complete daily reports and document milestones, feeding schedules, and activities.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 12 ECE units
- Experience:
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or childcare setting is highly preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience and a nurturing attitude.
- Ability to create a positive and safe learning environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate activities.
- Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Background check clearance (depending on the state or facility).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift children and participate in active play.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
- The role typically takes place in a daycare, preschool, or childcare facility with a focus on early childhood education.
- The teacher may work with other staff members and collaborate with parents, so teamwork and communication skills are essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
