The Opportunity
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Cashier Department Manager is responsible for managing Cashier department’s operation by providing best customer service. The position also needs to support the Store Manager on other matters as assigned.
You Will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the cashier line and customer service counter to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Deliver excellent customer service by being polite, attentive, and approachable; handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Supervise and support staff performance through coaching, on-the-job training, and mentoring; promote teamwork and a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Manage cash handling, staff uniforms, and consumable inventory to maintain operational readiness.
- Coordinate and support in-store promotional activities, including task assignment and workflow organization.
- Lead by example by actively performing hands-on tasks within the Cashier Department.
- Ensure accurate, efficient, and courteous checkout service at all times.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.
You Should Have/Be:
- Good communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role preferred, demonstrating strong leadership and training abilities
- Knowledge of marketing, event coordination, and the ability to analyze data and market trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Well-versed in workplace health and safety practices.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods; familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role.
- Familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role; able to accurately interpret product labels
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
