Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating dump trucks to transport and deliver materials efficiently across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, to transport construction materials, debris, or other freight across designated routes
- Follow GPS navigation systems to ensure accurate route driving and timely deliveries.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards during operations.
- Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently, ensuring proper securing of loads such as hazardous or dangerous goods, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or other specialized freight.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks, tanker, flatbed, or hazardous materials as applicable.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols for over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and operate equipment such as forklifts when required for load & unload activities.
- Strong knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with refrigerated trailers or automobile transportation is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks and work in varying weather conditions; must be able to load/unload cargo safely.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients while adhering to safety standards.
