Schedule: 4 Days per Week | 10-Hour Shifts
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or Staff Pharmacist to join a growing pharmacy team in Grants, New Mexico. This opportunity offers flexibility with full-time or PRN scheduling and is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys working in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Candidates with sterile IV compounding experience are required. Leadership experience is preferred for the PIC role, while experienced staff pharmacists are also encouraged to apply.
- Verify and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and adherence.
- Review medication therapies for safety, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Administer immunizations and other pharmacist-provided clinical services as permitted by state law.
- Oversee daily pharmacy workflow and operations.
- Ensure compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, HIPAA, and pharmacy policies.
- Maintain pharmacy licenses, permits, and required documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies and operational procedures.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and medication safety programs.
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy personnel.
- Develop staff schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Foster a culture focused on patient safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service.
- Manage medication inventory, purchasing, and storage.
- Oversee controlled substance documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Minimize inventory waste and ensure medication security.
- Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Investigate and resolve medication errors or compliance concerns.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist license (or ability to obtain).
- Sterile IV compounding experience required.
- Previous pharmacist experience (2–5+ years preferred).
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred for the PIC role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and medication safety.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
