Chipton-Ross is currently seeking multiple Sheetmetal Mechanic 1st Class professionals for long-term contract opportunities supporting a leading shipbuilding operation in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Per Diem Available!
Qualified candidates who live more than 75 miles from the worksite may be eligible for an additional $147 Per Diem with a valid utility bill.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install a variety of sheet metal products and components
- Construct and install ductwork, ventilation systems, main engine exhaust systems, metal containers, and instrumentation panels
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform layout and fabrication calculations using shop mathematics
- Utilize sheet metal tools, equipment, and machinery to support production requirements
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of sheet metal experience OR related craft experience in: Shipfitting, Joiner work, and/or Carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating sheet metal equipment such as: Brakes and/or Shears
- Ability to read marine blueprints
- Experience working with both standard and metric measurements
- Shipyard or marine industry experience

Candidates must successfully complete:
- Written Skills Assessment
- Hands-On Practical Skills Test
Work Schedule
- 5/40 workweek
- First, Second, and Third Shifts Available
- Overtime may be available based on production needs
