Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a growing organization in Gillette, Wyoming. As the Controller, you'll oversee the company's financial operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions.
Primary responsibilities include:
Lead all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external CPA firms and tax advisors
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
Provide financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience
Previous leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience using accounting software or ERP systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
CPA or CMA designation
Experience in manufacturing, mining, energy, industrial, construction, or heavy equipment industries
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or JD Edwards
Experience managing multi-entity accounting
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning experience
Proven ability to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Within your first year, you'll be expected to:
