POSITION SUMMARY:
The Therapist I provides quality psychosocial assessment and psychotherapy services to individuals who are experiencing mental illness, behavior problems, and/or substance misuse issues. Services could be provided in a variety of settings including the clinic, community, and home. Position will include collaboration with other positions within the agency (i.e. case manager, peer support, psychiatry, etc.) and outside of the agency (i.e. DCBS, courts, schools, etc.).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Support & Service Delivery

Assist in completing clinical evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and diagnostic screenings under supervision.

Deliver individual, family, collateral, psychoeducation and/or group therapy using evidenced-based/informed interventions.

Participate in intake, referral, orientation, and engagement activities for new clients.

Provide services to general outpatient, co-occurring, and assigned specialty populations (i.e. first episode psychosis, youth, adults, dual-diagnosis, residential) as applicable.

Assist in crisis response under supervision, including gathering information, coordinating with staff, and supporting safety planning. May include on call work through Adult Crisis Services, if applicable to this position.

Help develop and update person centered recovery treatment plans.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Team & Collaboration

Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, consultations, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Communicate professionally with referral sources, families, community partners, and internal staff, always within the boundaries of supervision.

Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, referral sources, community partners, and coworkers.

Collaborate with school systems, law enforcement, community agencies, and other partners as applicable.

Participate in committees or workgroups when assigned, if applicable.

Support continuity of care between programs (e.g., outpatient therapy, case management, psychiatry, peer support, residential, crisis).
Professional Practice

Participate in clinical supervision as required by state licensure.

Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices and emerging research relevant to assigned populations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:

Ability to sit for extended periods during sessions and documentation.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and travel between clinic sites or community settings as needed.

Must adhere to all supervision requirements and operate strictly within defined scope of practice.

Maintain documentation and follow all policies, timelines, and ethical standards.

Must participate in regional on-call schedule rotation, if applicable.

Performance will be evaluated, at minimum annually, on professional conducts, documentation timeliness, engagement in supervision, responsiveness to feedback, and development of core clinical skills.
