We are seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused individuals for a combined Security Guard / Budtender position at our cannabis dispensary locations in Moline, Illinois.
This hybrid role combines store security, customer service, cannabis product knowledge, and retail sales. The ideal candidate can maintain a safe and compliant environment while also delivering an excellent customer experience and assisting with day-to-day dispensary operations.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Safety
- Maintain a visible, professional security presence throughout the dispensary.
- Monitor entrances, exits, sales floor, parking areas, and other designated areas.
- Verify customer identification and help control access to restricted areas.
- Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious or unusual activity.
- Conduct routine interior and exterior security checks.
- Assist with opening and closing security procedures.
- Help manage customer traffic during high-volume periods.
- Professionally de-escalate customer or security-related situations.
- Document security incidents and immediately communicate concerns to management.
- Coordinate with management, law enforcement, or emergency services when appropriate.
Budtender & Retail Operations
- Greet customers and provide a friendly, professional dispensary experience.
- Assist customers in understanding available cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, and accessories.
- Provide product information while avoiding medical claims or recommendations outside the scope of the position.
- Accurately process customer purchases through the dispensary POS system.
- Follow all cash-handling and transaction procedures.
- Maintain familiarity with current products, promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs.
- Assist with stocking, merchandising, and maintaining organized product displays.
- Support inventory counts and immediately report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor.
- Follow all company SOPs and applicable Illinois cannabis regulations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, loss prevention, cannabis retail, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
- Cannabis industry experience is helpful but not required.
- Must meet all age, licensing, registration, background-check, and eligibility requirements applicable to working in an Illinois cannabis dispensary.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable working with POS systems, cash transactions, and retail technology.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during difficult situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-volume events preferred.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who can effectively operate in two important roles: protecting the store and serving the customer.
The ideal candidate is alert, approachable, professional, sales-oriented, and comfortable interacting with customers. You should be able to transition from monitoring the entrance and maintaining security to helping customers understand products and completing transactions when needed.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
