As an Armed Patrol Officer at Metro Public Safety and Investigations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their properties. Position Overview:
Metro Public Safety and Investigations is seeking highly trained and dependable Armed Patrol Officers to ensure the safety and security of our clients' property, personnel, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, professional, and capable of responding quickly and effectively to security incidents while upholding company policies and local laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle to detect and deter suspicious activity.
- Protect company assets, employees, clients, and visitors against theft, vandalism, violence, and other illegal activity.
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate action.
- Enforce security policies, access control procedures, and safety regulations.
- Detain and/or escort individuals as necessary, in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
- Write detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel when required.
- Conduct bag checks, vehicle inspections, and perimeter security as needed.
- Remain alert, professional, and courteous while providing customer service and maintaining a visible security presence.
- Properly maintain assigned firearms, equipment, and uniforms in accordance with policy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; additional training in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Must be at least 23 years of age due to vehicle insurance restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Possess and maintain or the ability to obtain a security license through Kansas City, MO and/or other cities, depending on site assignment.
- Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement strongly preferred.
- Strong situational awareness, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods, and respond to emergencies quickly.
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and firearms qualification.
- Must own duty gear: Duty Belt, Handcuffs, Flashlight etc..
- Must own a full size or compact (sub compact is not allowed) handgun 9mm, 40cal. or 45cal.
Working Conditions:
- Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. 12-hour shifts.
- Work may be performed indoors, outdoors, and in various weather conditions.
- Officers may be required to stand for long periods and respond to physically demanding situations.

Work Schedule:
Metro Public Safety and Investigations operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You may be required to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Work Location: Although our office is located in Independence, MO, your job site location may be anywhere in the KC Metro area. Some job sites require you to respond to our office in Independence to pick up/check out equipment; other sites, you will go directly to the job site and begin your shift from there.
