Assignment Details
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Unit: 20-bed Progressive Care Unit
- Patient Population: PCU, Stepdown, and Med-Surg overflow
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5–1:6
- EMR: Cerner
- Monitoring: Hardwired bedside telemetry monitors
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU, stepdown, and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms
- Assess patient conditions and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Follow evidence-based nursing practices and facility policies
QualificationsRequired
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Willingness to float as needed
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills
Preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience in fast-paced PCU or Stepdown units
- Experience with Cerner EMR
