Responsibilities
- You will learn many locations including offices, dealerships, factories. Need to have reliable transportation, as you may be at multiple locations. Prior cleaning experience is required. Must be willing to work independently. Must have a cell phone and be reliable with communication. Willing to travel around Lansing and Okemos areas. Daily phone calls and texts with management to check in and get daily duties.
- Perform cleaning duties across various areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and well-maintained.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, and scrubbers to uphold floor care standards.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for mixing, application, and disposal to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding professionally to inquiries and assisting staff or visitors with their custodial needs.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
- Familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning and safety compliance.
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with staff and visitors.
