Retro Knights Arcade is looking for a dependable and friendly team member to help operate the arcade, welcome guests, serve simple prepared food and drinks, and keep the facility clean and organized.
This is a flexible part-time role that may be a great fit for a student, gamer, or anyone who enjoys working in a relaxed entertainment environment.
You should be comfortable working independently, helping customers, following checklists, and taking responsibility for opening or closing the arcade when scheduled.
What You’ll DoWelcome and Assist Guests
- Greet customers as they enter the arcade
- Process admissions and operate the register
- Explain how our free-play arcade model works
- Answer questions about games, consoles, memberships, parties, and events
- Help guests understand how to start or use games and gaming systems
- Provide basic assistance when a machine or console is not working as expected
- Report technical problems that require repair
You do not need to be an arcade repair technician. Training will be provided for common guest questions and basic troubleshooting.
Food, Snacks, and Drinks
- Reheat and serve pre-prepared grilled cheese sandwiches using a panini press
- Serve snacks and drinks
- Restock food, beverages, and serving supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized food-service area
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures
- Obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
No cooking from scratch is required. Instructions and training will be provided for food preparation and service.
Monitor the Arcade
- Walk through the arcade regularly
- Confirm that games, consoles, computers, and racing systems are operating properly
- Assist guests who need help using equipment
- Keep gaming areas organized
- Notify management of damaged equipment or technical issues
- Help ensure guests are treating games and equipment appropriately
- Report spills, safety concerns, or other problems promptly
Opening Responsibilities
Opening shifts may include:
- Unlocking and preparing the arcade for guests
- Powering on arcade machines
- Turning on gaming computers and racing systems
- Setting up televisions and video-game consoles
- Checking the register and front entrance
- Restocking snacks and drinks
- Checking bathrooms and common areas
- Walking through the facility to ensure everything is ready for guests
Closing Responsibilities
Closing shifts may include:
- Powering down arcade machines, computers, televisions, consoles, and racing systems
- Confirming that all designated equipment has been properly shut off
- Turning off the air conditioning at the end of the night
- Cleaning and organizing guest areas
- Wiping down tables, counters, and gaming areas as needed
- Taking all trash to the dumpster
- Restocking supplies for the next shift
- Checking bathrooms for toilet paper, paper towels, and general cleanliness
- Confirming that guest and party areas have been reset
- Securing and locking the arcade before leaving
Training and opening and closing checklists will be provided.
Cleaning and Facility Upkeep
Everyone on our team helps keep the arcade clean, organized, and welcoming.
Routine responsibilities include:
- Wiping down arcade machines and gaming areas
- Cleaning tables, counters, and food-service surfaces
- Cleaning and resetting spaces after birthday parties and events
- Emptying trash and bringing it to the dumpster
- Checking and restocking bathroom supplies
- Organizing storage and supply areas
- Restocking snacks, drinks, and other inventory
- Cleaning spills and addressing basic facility concerns
- Helping maintain the overall appearance of the arcade
A Gamer-Friendly Workplace
We understand that some shifts will have quieter periods.
Once guests have been assisted and all assigned cleaning, restocking, facility checks, and other responsibilities are complete, reasonable personal gaming or phone use may be permitted during downtime.
The expectation is simple: guests and arcade responsibilities always come first.
Opportunities to Grow
This position can remain a straightforward part-time arcade role, but additional opportunities may become available for motivated team members.
Future responsibilities could include:
- Helping run tournaments and special events
- Assisting with birthday parties and private rentals
- Developing new event ideas
- Helping with community outreach
- Creating promotional or social-media content
- Supporting marketing projects
- Taking on additional leadership responsibilities
- Earning performance-based bonuses for helping grow the business
There is no requirement to take on these additional responsibilities, but the opportunity is available for someone who wants to learn and grow with the arcade.

- Responsible enough to open or close the arcade
- Willing to clean, organize, and restock
- Comfortable serving simple prepared food
- Able to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
- Interested in video games or entertainment
- Able to follow checklists and procedures
- Calm and helpful when customers have questions
- Available for some evening and weekend shifts
Previous arcade, retail, restaurant, entertainment, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
