The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant facilities and production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, pipefitting, and basic electrical repairs while adhering to company safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on plant facilities and production equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules and document all maintenance activities, findings, and corrective actions in the company’s maintenance management system.
- Inspect equipment and systems to identify potential failures, safety hazards, and operational concerns; communicate findings to the Resource Manager and appropriate personnel.
- Perform welding and fabrication work on a variety of metals to support equipment repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Operate machine shop equipment, including drill presses, grinders, MIG and stick welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment, pneumatic tools, and electric/manual hand tools.
- Install, repair, and maintain threaded and welded piping systems of various sizes for plant equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, motors, controls, and related equipment as required.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, relocations, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, local codes, federal requirements, and company policies and procedures.
- Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols while performing assigned duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, tools, and maintenance shops.
- Support production and operations teams by responding promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
- Provide maintenance coverage during the absence of other Maintenance Technicians as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school certification, vocational training, or equivalent industrial maintenance training preferred.
- Welding certification and/or electrical certification preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, pipefitting, and machine shop operations.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and maintenance best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment repair techniques.
- Ability to prioritize workload and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and work order management.
- Understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work permits, and other industrial safety procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor industrial environments and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and greater weights with assistance.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving mechanical equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
- Ability to distinguish colors for electrical and equipment identification purposes.
- Some overtime, weekends, call-outs, and emergency response work may be required

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a shop environment.
Pay Range: $25 hrly DOE
