Role Overview
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Import Purchasing Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Import Buyer to manage purchase orders, update data files, and analyze product trends. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly master our product line, look at historical data, and make confident recommendations on product selection and ordering.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase Orders: Issue import purchase orders; communicate and routinely follow up with overseas vendors to track progress.
- Logistics Tracking: Monitor shipments closely to ensure on-time delivery; liaise with the Sales and Warehouse departments regarding scheduled arrivals.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate product information files within the company's sales and computer systems.
- Product Analysis: Analyze product history, market trends, and selection to make recommendations for future inventory.
- Quality & Samples: Inspect incoming products as needed; request samples and coordinate displays for new product arrivals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to evaluate product history and trends. New Grads with a degree in analytical fields (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Finance) are highly encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal departments, co-workers, and external international suppliers.
- Organization: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy in record-keeping, and the ability to thrive under tight, seasonal deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
