Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Experienced Dog Groomer to join our loving team! This is a commission based position. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services that enhance the health, hygiene, and appearance of our fur baby clients. At Dapper Dog we cater to all breeds along with elderly and special needs fur baby clients. Your expertise will ensure each pet leaves looking and feeling their best, while also fostering positive relationships with pet owners. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, coat trimming, styling, and pet coat care tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques, ensuring comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other hygiene-related tasks with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
- Assist in keeping the shop clean and sanitary
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with references and a strong portfolio of pet styling skills
- Provide personal grooming equipment and suitable table for all size dogs
- Ability to handle animals safely using animal restraint methods; experience with animal handling is essential
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing detailed grooming tasks
- Basic understanding of pet health issues related to coat care, nail trimming, and overall animal care
