Assistant Toddler Teacher

Discovery Place is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to work alongside our Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher with daily activities, lesson plans, and classroom routines.
- Engage toddlers in play, exploration, conversation, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Encourage children’s independence, social-emotional development, and self-help skills.
- Provide gentle, consistent guidance while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Assist with daily classroom duties, including cleaning, organizing materials, snacks, and children’s belongings.
- Help with transitions, field trips, special events, and other classroom activities.
- Communicate professionally and work collaboratively with the teaching team.
- Follow all KDHE regulations and Discovery Place policies and procedures.
- Attend required staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, confidentiality, and a professional appearance.

- 18 years old
- High School Diploma
