Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting to identify mechanical or electrical faults and implement effective repairs.
- Maintain HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems through routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Repair plumbing components associated with HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical skills to execute repairs or modifications efficiently.
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including electrical safety protocols and building codes.
- Assist in the installation of new HVAC systems ensuring proper integration with existing building infrastructure.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with HVAC system installation or repair projects.
- Service technician experience in diagnosing and repairing HVAC/R equipment in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, mechanical systems repair, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration cycles, and building automation controls.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and gauges.
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and perform welding or other mechanical repairs as needed.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC design or electrical work are a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
