Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support for a busy Sports Medicine and Orthopedic practice. Your expertise will help ensure smooth patient intake, accurate documentation, and efficient clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality patient service while demonstrating strong knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and vital signs with accuracy and compassion
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including medication administration and basic life support when necessary
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests such as X-ray imaging or laboratory work, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
- Document patient information thoroughly using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses
- Manage medical administrative support duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, obtaining authorizations for in office procedures, injections, and x-rays.
- Assist with in-room procedures in a clinical setting while adhering to safety standards and infection control protocols. Support the clinical team with basic physiology knowledge during patient assessments and treatment planning
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office/clinic, hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
- Hands-on clinic experience in outpatient or inpatient settings across specialties like orthopedic and spine care
- Knowledge of EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes is required
- Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedures required, (basic x-ray license required)
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding practices, and medication protocols is essential

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
