Tax Manager | Full-Time | On-Site
The Role
A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, oversee client relationships, and mentor staff across a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys providing strategic guidance beyond tax compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and review complex tax returns including partnerships (1065), C-corporations (1120), S-corporations (1120S), fiduciary returns, and high-net-worth individual returns (1040).
- Lead tax planning and advisory engagements for privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
- Oversee trust, estate, and gift tax compliance, individual income tax matters, and foreign financial reporting.
- Serve as a primary advisor and relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of clients.
- Review staff work product for accuracy, compliance, and technical quality while providing mentorship and development-focused feedback.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Utilize technical expertise and industry knowledge to support client growth, operational planning, and long-term tax strategies.
- Manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and client priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
- Support firm growth initiatives through client interaction, networking, and business development efforts.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license preferred.
- 8+ years of public accounting experience with strong exposure to complex individual and business taxation.
- Experience with trust, estate, and gift tax matters preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Planner, BNA, PPC, or similar tax software preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and mentor junior staff.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak deadlines as needed.
Compensation
$150,000 – $170,000. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
