About Us
Primrose School of Bel Air is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. We are looking for educators who are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 2–5 years old.
As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for managing your classroom, implementing curriculum, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring children receive the highest quality early childhood education experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Maintain classroom management and daily routines
- Complete assessments, observations, and required documentation
- Build positive relationships with families and provide regular communication
- Ensure compliance with all MSDE licensing requirements and school policies
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers assigned to the classroom
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness
Qualifications
- Must meet Maryland State requirements for a Lead Preschool Teacher
- 90-Hour Preschool Certification required
- Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous preschool teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass all required background checks
