Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated 3rd or 4th year automotive apprentice to join our dynamic service team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop advanced skills in vehicle repair and maintenance while working alongside experienced technicians. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including those equipped with modern automotive electrical systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to expand their mechanical expertise and grow within a professional automotive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnosing automotive issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Support the repair and replacement of powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Contribute to wheel alignments, brake repairs, and suspension work to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive tools safely and effectively.
- Help maintain electrical systems, ADAS calibration, and vehicle electronic diagnostics.
- Collaborate with senior technicians on complex repairs involving automotive electrical systems and GM vehicles.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Previous dealership or automotive service experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and schematics is advantageous.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including vehicle maintenance procedures is essential.
- Hands-on experience with wheel alignment, powertrain repairs, or diesel engine work is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, transmissions, and ADAS technology will set you apart.
- Strong understanding of auto estimating processes and customer service fundamentals is beneficial.
