Duties
- Operate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped for application tasks with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections, including mechanical checks and calibration of drone systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Apply chemicals or materials accurately over designated areas using drone technology, maintaining strict adherence to application guidelines.
- Capture high-quality photography and filming during flights for documentation, analysis, or reporting purposes.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to plan flight paths, analyze terrain data, and optimize coverage areas.
- Maintain detailed logs of flight operations, application records, and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting.
- Follow all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Department of Defense (DoD) standards related to UAV operations and safety procedures.
- Must be able to drive and back a trailer
Experience
- Proven experience operating drones in a professional setting, preferably within agriculture, environmental management, or infrastructure inspection.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to drone systems, including troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Familiarity with GIS software for mapping and flight planning purposes.
- Experience filming or capturing imagery from aerial platforms is highly desirable.
- Prior military or DoD experience involving aviation or UAV operations is a significant plus.
- Excellent command of English for clear communication and documentation.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), especially those governing commercial UAV use and safety standards in aviation environments.
