About Tarifica
Tarifica is a software and data analytics company serving the global telecommunications industry. We build data platforms, APIs, dashboards, and custom solutions that help telecom operators, regulators, financial institutions, and other clients understand pricing, products, promotions, and competitive activity around the world.
Tarifica is a remote company, and we welcome candidates throughout the United States. Candidates in the New York City area are preferred for occasional in-person collaboration, but regular office attendance is not required
About the Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead to take broad ownership of Tarifica's technology environment.
This is a hands-on role spanning application development, databases, data pipelines, APIs, AWS infrastructure, deployment, and production support. You will maintain and improve a substantial existing codebase while also helping architect and build major new client platforms.
Over time, you will become the primary technical owner of our systems, working directly with product and business leadership and supported by outside development resources as needed.
This role is best suited to an experienced, versatile engineer who enjoys understanding and owning an entire system rather than working within one narrow part of the stack.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain full-stack web applications, dashboards, APIs, and data platforms.
- Design and maintain databases and ETL/data-ingestion pipelines.
- Integrate third-party APIs and other external data sources.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing production applications and systems.
- Own key AWS infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, security, backups, and system reliability.
- Diagnose technical issues across the stack and implement practical, durable solutions.
- Translate business and client requirements into technical solutions.
- Communicate technical issues, tradeoffs, and timelines clearly to nontechnical colleagues.
- Work with outside developers or specialists when additional project resources are required.
Technology Environment
Our current technology environment includes:
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React / Next.js
- Node.js
- Django / Flask / FastAPI
- SQL / PostgreSQL
- AWS
- REST APIs
- ETL and data pipelines
- Git and CI/CD workflows
We do not expect candidates to have deep experience with every technology listed, but strong full-stack fundamentals and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems are essential.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical/quantitative field.
- Several years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful full-stack responsibilities.
- Strong Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, and modern front-end development skills.
- Hands-on AWS experience supporting production applications and infrastructure, including services such as Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, Amplify, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and API Gateway.
- Experience building APIs and working with data-intensive applications or pipelines.
- Understanding of the full development lifecycle from architecture through deployment and maintenance.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical judgment.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with nontechnical stakeholders.
Experience with web scraping, data visualization, React Native, telecom data, or production AI/LLM integrations is helpful but not required.
About You
You are resourceful, pragmatic, and comfortable with responsibility. You can move between building new functionality and diagnosing an existing production system. You care about writing maintainable software but understand that technical decisions also need to reflect users, timelines, and business priorities.
Most importantly, you want meaningful ownership. This is not a narrowly defined engineering position within a large development team; you will have a significant role in how Tarifica's technology is built and evolves.
