Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for the daily setup, operation, and maintenance of our CNC Laser. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Operating the CNC Laser
- Unloading finished parts
- Cleaning and preparing parts as needed
- Safely operating a forklift to move materials and parts
- Helping the rest of the Columbiad team as time allows
Our expectations for laser operators include:
- Maintaining a steady production rate and minimizing machine downtime
- Ensuring all parts meet quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Completing all documentation as directed
- Wearing required PPE at all times while on the production floor
- Standing, walking, and lifting parts for the duration of the shift
Laser operators report to their shift’s Team Lead for day-to-day operation and to the Laser Supervisor for scheduling and all other matters.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with hand tools and their proper usage.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in various conditions.
Hours
2nd shift runs from 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM. Standard operation is Monday - Thursday. Overtime is as needed on Fridays.
