POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist clinical team members by performing a variety of duties for patients within the patient focused care system and responsible for the coordination of interventional procedures and patient scheduling. Consults and communicates with radiologists and advanced practice providers, when applicable.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School/GED required.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- Must have good working knowledge of computers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and communicate in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year experience preferred
- Requires working with frequent interruptions and strong customer service skills
- Willingness to train with other workflows and computer/software systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, required

Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
· Considers mission, vision and DHR Health CARES values in developing services, standards and practices.
- Considers priorities and special needs of the patient, physician, and the Hospital when scheduling appointments and radiological procedures.
· Responds to patient requests for procedures and any questions or concerns in a timely manner.
- Schedules procedures according to policies, nursing and department staff availability, patient needs, and physician’s block time.
- Maintains schedule according to procedure and physician’s time and staffing requirements.
- Coordinates schedule assessing time and equipment availability, identifies conflicts, and adjusts as needed.
- Accurately prepares the schedule for timely distribution.
- Facilitates daily completion of the facility schedule.
- Follows procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g. cancellation).
- Maintains and protects each patient’s right to confidentiality.
- Answers telephone and intercom courteously and in a quiet, pleasant voice.
- Assumes clerical duties and responsibilities as necessary.
- Completes procedure charge entry and utilizes the operating room management system for interventional procedure data entry, when assigned.
- Answer calls from health care providers requesting expedited reports pending interpretation for urgent patient care needs (i.e. upcoming appointments, treatments, or surgery) and communicate with radiologist. Follow-up to prevent patient care delays.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.
AGE SPECIFIC:
Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his or her age.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
