Duties
- Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient consultations, procedures, and treatments
- Take and record accurate vital signs, medical histories, and patient intake information using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols, including basic life support procedures when necessary
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging, specimen collection, or other outpatient testing
- Support inpatient and outpatient care activities across various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating patient records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by monitoring infection control practices and maintaining cleanliness of clinical areas
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or Level I/II trauma centers
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical coding practices (ICD coding) for accurate documentation
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and basic life support certification
- Experience working with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics, or surgical patients in medical-surgical or internal medicine environments
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in high-pressure situations
- Hospital experience including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and inpatient care procedures is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in outpatient or inpatient settings

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
