JOB This is a part-time seasonal position and is scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week during the spring and summer, and less than 1000 hours per fiscal year and less than 30 hours per week. Position is responsible for constant observance of various age groups for swimming in the pool; to control the public in the use of the pool facilities; to administer lifesaving techniques and first aid in case of accidents or emergencies around pool areas; to call for additional assistance immediately when necessary. Responsible for keeping the restrooms and pool area clean according to health regulations. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood “I SERVE” Core Values. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES 1) Will constantly observe participants in the pool; 2) Will ensure water safety and enforce all safety rules in and out of the water; 3) Will keep all areas of the pool and restroom areas clean; 4) Will administer first aid and respond immediately to call for assistance in case of accidents or emergencies in and around the pool area and the premises; 5) Head Lifeguard or person designated by Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for taking regular interval readings of chlorine and PH levels and check necessary equipment for sanitation of pools; 6) Mow, weed-eat, and rake lawn; 7) Must attend weekly in service Lifeguard training; 8) Perform other duties as assigned by Head Lifeguard or Recreation Aquatics Supervisor.
