Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing staff, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and service.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient service and adherence to quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff in food preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory control processes, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Handle cash management tasks, including cash handling procedures and POS system operation (Aloha POS or Micros POS).
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning to optimize restaurant profitability.
- Conduct interviews for new hires and participate in the onboarding process.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints to enhance guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Experience with kitchen management, including food production and culinary techniques.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple tasks under pressure.
- Previous experience in training & development of staff is highly desirable.
- Background in restaurant management or supervisory roles is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and service delivery.
