Barnes Nursery’s Retail Division is looking for one smiling, driven individual who want to work full-time in our Garden Center! Room for advancement. Must have retail experience, preferably in Garden Center or Greenhouse work.

Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or working towards one
- Two-Year experience in Retail Sales and/or Greenhouse Environment
- Availability to work weekends (Peak Season is mandatory, then rotating)
- Willingness to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and seasons
- Experience with Skid Steer/Front end Loader or willingness to learn
Purpose of the Job
- Assist customers with purchasing plant material and plant related goods
- Assist customers in plant problem troubleshooting (willing to train)
- Providing top tier customer service
- Caring for plant material
- Unloading, restocking, checking-in and set-up of plant material and hard goods displays
- Managing the day-to-day operational procedures of the garden center
- Assisting with ordering product, communicating needs to Manager, or home location in Huron
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- (50%) Assisting customers in products, services and purchases
- (20%) Phone and POS cash register work
- (20%) Handling and processing of new merchandise and plant material
- (10%) Housekeeping of store and greenhouse areas
Knowledge and Skills
- Customer Service and Sales Skills –required
- Operate Skid/Steer and Forklift – (willing to train)
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Plant Care & Identification
- Management or Leadership Experience
